A presentation opportunity that will help with your future

The Fourth Annual Medievalists and Early Modernists of North Texas and Oklahoma Conference was held Saturday, February 8, 2020 at University of North Texas in Denton, TX.

This conference gave students from 70 different universities an opportunity to present their research on medieval and modern history.

Emily Hill, a sophomore in the Honors Program, was in the Cultural History of the West Course. She had written a paper over a comparison of Christian Theology from 400 to 800 and was told by her professor, Dr. Cotter-Lynch, she should submit her paper. She got accepted on January 16th, 2020.

The presentations had to last for 10 to 15 minutes and if you went over fifteen minutes. Hill was one of the last people to present her research paper, which lasted about 14 minutes.

UNT hosts this conference every year and all you have to do is take a class in either English or History that covers somewhere between 43 BCE to 1500 CE. If you are interested in entering this conference, contact Dr. Cotter Lynch at clynch@se.edu.

Hill strongly encourages people who are interested to submit their papers. She stated,

“I’m not an English or History major… I’m an Education major, but it was a super cool opportunity and it definitely helped me for the future if I ever had to do a presentation like this again.”
